Karen B. King, CNM

Karen is a native of New York State.  She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Boston University in 1983.  Karen worked for more than 18 years as a nurse including 12 years as a Labor and Delivery Nurse. After deciding she wanted to take a more active role in caring for and supporting women, Karen returned to school to become a Certified Nurse Midwife.  In 2002, she received her Master of Science degree with a concentration in Midwifery from Philadelphia University and her midwifery certification from the Frontier School of Midwifery and Family Nursing in Kentucky.  Karen has been practicing as a Certified Nurse Midwife since 2002.  In September 2002, Karen published an article entitled “American Women Giving Birth Overseas” in the International Journal of Childbirth Education. She joined Dr. Rossi’s practice in 2003.   Karen has proudly attended over 200 births.  In addition to her work with our practice, Karen volunteers monthly at the Arlington Free Clinic.

Karen has a very supportive husband and is the mother of three boys ages 21, 18, and 15;. Her special interest is providing care for teenagers as well as young professional women and teaching them about their gynecological health. She also enjoys teaching women about their pregnancy and providing guidance with breastfeeding.
